OAK RIDGE, Tennessee -- May 2, 2006 -- Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. (OTCBB: OKME) is pleased to announce they have recently retained Growth Company Analytics LLC to research Oak Ridge Micro-Energy and write a independent report on the company. The report can be found at www.smallcapuniverse.com/view_reports.html.

"We are pleased with this independent research report. Additional exposure will benefit our shareholders and attract new business partners," stated Mark Meriwether, president and CEO of Oak Ridge. Meriwether continued, "Our continued commitment to commercializing the thin-film battery has given us a very solid foundation. I believe our shareholders will be as excited as I am with what is in store for their company in the near future. Our recent patent awards and diversification of potential markets and operating ranges of the thin-film battery will ultimately differentiate us from our competition."

In other news, results have recently been posted on the company's Web site regarding the continued development of thin-film batteries that operate continuously above 150 degrees Celsius. In addition, the company recently announced they were awarded a patent, U.S. 6,994,933, pertaining to a protective coating for thin-film batteries. The coating provides a barrier to water vapor and oxygen penetration, and gives thin-film batteries a very long operating life.

The company had also previously announced the issuance of a patent on a thin film electrolyte, U.S. 6,818,356 (Nov. 16, 2004), and two additional applications on a new thin film electrolyte, and a packaging method for thin film batteries currently are under review at the USPTO.

About Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc.

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. develops and produces custom designed thin film lithium and lithium-ion batteries that are ideally suited for a variety of applications where a small power source is needed. These batteries can be fabricated on a variety of substrates, as well as onto chips, chip carriers or multi-chip module packages. By using the available space on a ceramic package or a silicon die, the battery can provide the required power, while occupying otherwise wasted space and adding negligible mass. The company's batteries are intended for applications such as wireless sensors that operate in harsh environments, semiconductor diagnostic wafers, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, semiconductor non-volatile memory chips and advanced medical devices. Initial production will target specialized high-margin markets. Expansion of the company's manufacturing capacity, internally and through strategic partnerships, will allow Oak Ridge Micro-Energy to reduce manufacturing costs and penetrate larger markets, such as active RFID.

The company maintains R&D and manufacturing facilities in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and an additional office in Salt Lake City. Detailed information about Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. may be obtained by visiting the company's Web site at http://www.oakridgemicro.com.

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy paid Growth Company Analytics a total of $2,500 and 200,000 shares of restricted stock in the company for this report.
