Oak Ridge Micro-Energy has developed a manufacturing process for thin film batteries. This process includes
- Film deposition
- Packaging
- Testing
- Dicing
Batteries are fabricated on 4.5” x 4.5” x 0.010” ceramic wafers. The photograph shows one wafer with with 81 batteries (model ORLI.0.5.CL) after packaging and before dicing. Typically batteries are custom designed to match the requirements of specific applications. The batteries in the photograph are based on a generic design with relatively large contact pads for easy electrical connection and are intended for evaluation by potential customers. Specifications and test data for ORLI.0.5.CL batteries are given in the PDF documents listed below. As data become available, revisions and additions to the docments will be made.
